With
the
BAND
selector
in the FM position,

Slide
the
FUNCTION
selector
to
the
ON/
RADIO position.
Select the desired band with the BAND
selec-
tor.
Raise and extend the telescopic rod antenna
if
FM or SW band has been selected.
Rotate
the
TUNING
control
in either direc-
tion
until
the
required
broadcast
is received
clearly.
In the MW or LW reception, rotate or locate the
unit to receive peak signal strength of the MW
or LW broadcast.
In the
SW
reception, position
the telescopic
rod antenna vertically and
extend it to its full
ngth.

reception, adjust the position and
length of the telescopic
rod antenna until FM
broadcast
reception
signal is at peak strength.

FUNCTION
selector
to the FM STE-
REO or FM MONO position.

FM
STEREO
position
is selected
to
listen
to
FM
stereo
broadcasts;
monaural
broadcasts
can
also
be
received.
However,
when signal is weak and distorted, change the
selector to the FM MONO position to improve
sound quality.
Adjust the VOLUME
and TONE controls for a
comfortable sound.
Built-in loudness circuit:
When
listening
to the radio or a tape at low
volume
settings, the built-in loudness circuit is
activated
to compensate
for
bass and treble
deficiencies.
Adjust
the
BALANCE
control
for
relative
speaker output balance depending on listener's
position.

Slide the FUNCTION selector to the
/TAPE
position to terminate radio operation.

Depress the STOP/EJECT
@/4 key and load a
recorded cassette tape into the cassette compart-
ment.
Slide the FUNCTION
selector to the () /TAPE
position.
Depress the PLAY
> key.
Adjust the VOLUME,
TONE,
and BALANCE
controls to a comfortable level.
The
unit
automatically
returns to the neutral
mode when the end of tape is reached.

neutral
mode,
the
STOP/EJECT

Depress

REWIND

Depress the PAUSE

temporarily.
The
tape will stop at the
point where this key is depressed, and resume
from
this point when
the key is depressed a
second time.
Note:
This unit is not designed for CrO,, Fe-Cr or
METAL tape use.
Depress the STOP/EJECT
s/Akey in order to
stop the tape before the end is reached.
When
the end of the tape is reached, the tape
will stop, but the motor will continue to rotate.
Depress the STOP/EJECT = /Akey immediately,
or the unit may be damaged.
SHARP's
APSS
speeds forward
or backward to locate the programme you wish to hear, and plays it
back to you automatically.
If you depress the
F FWD
>> key or REWIND
¢:key
while the tape is playing, the tape will
advance
to
the
beginning
of the next
pro-
gramme
or
rewind
to
the beginning
of that
programme.
Play
automatically
resumes
when
the space
before the next programme is reached or when
the space preceding the programme is reached.

If it is desired to stop the tape at the beginning of
the selection,
