a. The recorded signa! on the tape is of an inter-
mittent nature (speech, music with silent
Passages, etc.).
. The recorded signa! on the tape contains soft
classical music, solo performance, modern
jazz, etc.
The recorded signal on the tape is of low
strength.
. The recorded programme items are separated
by less than three-second space (during
which there gccurs no signal).
The recorded programme items are separated
by spaces which are not free of noise or stray
signals.
Notes on APSS Operation
The APSS may not function perfectly at all times @ If the APSS function is activated near the end
of
a selection, one programme may be skipped.
@When the APSS is functioning (searching for a
programme item in either forward or reverse), the
speakers may emit a slight high-pitched sound.
This is not due to any malfunction of the unit,
and does not present need for alarm.

RECORDING
Recording from the Built-in Radio

Tune in to the desired station.
Load a cassette into the cassette compartment.
Make sure that the protection tabs are intact.
Depress the PAUSE ff key.
Depress the RECORD e key.
This will also engage the PLAY P key.
Slide the BEAT CANCEL switch to the A, B or
C position, that is, to the position allowing the
lowest level of interference during the MW or
LW reception.
Depress the PAUSE II key a second time to
release it and begin recording.
Depress the STOP/EJECT
stopping the recording.

Digital Tape Counter
Depress the button at the side of the counter *~
reset to ''000'". The counter will advance wh,
recording or playback is in progress. These
readings provide a useful reference during
recording and playback.

Do not connect any plug to the EXT MIC jack
and AMP socket during recording with the
built-in microphone.
Monitoring of recording is not possible.
Recording from the built-in microphone is not
in stereo recording.
