3. Service and maintenance
3.1 Safety valve
3.1.1 Checking the safety valve

Draw off hot water until the heater switches on.
During heat-up, expansion water must drip into the drain outlet;
which will cease when the water has reached its temperature.
If no water is expelled, check the function of the non-return
valve.
If water continues to escape after heat-up:

Remove top of safety valve (

Check inlet pressure. If pressure exceeds 0.5 MPa, use pressure
reducer.

Check the function of the installed pressure reducer, and/or
check seat and cone seal are clean. Entire control insert may
need replacing.

Venting the safety valve.
Remove cap. Open top of safety valve (2) by turning rotary cap
anti-clockwise. Water should then drain into the drain outlet
(10). Repeat the process two to three times.
Note
!
If no water is expelled from the safety valve during
heat-up after both tests, the top of the safety valve
must be completely replaced.

Disconnect the DHW cylinder power supply and close shut-off
valve. First remove cap then close shut-off valve (4) by turning
manual wheel clockwise

Never make and modifications or changes to the safety
valve. If the valve fails replace it with a new one.

Installation and commissioning in reverse order

Repeat checking as described above.
