To swivel up, press the detent lever and pull the side panel upwards.
The arm rest engages automatically on swivelling back down.
This engagement is clearly audible.
Folding the foot plates up (Fig. 14)
Fold the foot plates up to make entering and exiting easier.
The foot plates must be folded up, and the footboard and heelstrap have to be removed
when folding the wheelchair together.
Swivelling away and detaching the leg rests (Fig. 15)
To remove the leg rests, first detach the heel strap, fold the foot plates up and remove the
footboard.
Now actuate the locking mechanism (red) and swivel the leg rest outwards.
The leg rest can now be detached upwards.
Carry the procedure out in the opposite sequence during assembly.
When the leg rest is swivelled forwards, it can be clearly heard to engage.

Pushing and braking

Pushing and braking by an accompanying person

The accompanying person propels the wheelchair by pushing on the intended pushing
handles.
Important!
In models without an optional drum brake, the accompanying person must be
physically and mentally able to brake the wheelchair by using his own strength.
The locking brake is then available as a parking brake.
The accompanying person can use an optional drum brake as a service and locking brake.
This is helps when moving on slopes. Movement can then be dosed and braked by
applying the brake levers more or less extensively subject to requirements. In addition, the
drum brake can also be used as a parking brake.

Driving and braking independently

Carry out initial test drives carefully on flat terrain with the support of an assistant until you
have become familiar with your new wheelchair. You may only operate the wheelchair in
public road traffic once you have become accustomed to operation. You must take
particular care when driving on inclines and declines or when overcoming obstacles.
The wheelchair is moved and braked using the handrims; when doing so, the hand is
placed onto the handrim, in which case only the thumb and the curved index finger come
into contact with the rim. The other fingers are closed to make a fist and do not come into
contact with the handrim.
To brake the wheelchair, you should allow the handrim to slide between your thumbs and
curved index fingers, and brake until stationary by gradually gripping the handrim.
Attention!
When propelling your wheelchair, make sure that you do not touch the tyre
casing with your thumb.
Risk of trapping between the tyre and side panel/arm rest!
