Preparing the wheelchair for use

Your wheelchair is usually delivered fully-assembled and folded. A few simple steps are
sufficient to prepare it for use.
Risk of trapping!
When folding and unfolding/erecting your wheelchair, pay attention to your
fingers and only grip the parts which are illustrated.

Folding apart (Figs. 1 - 2)

Position yourself next to the wheelchair and tilt it slightly towards you. Then press the
crossbar apart with the flat of your hand. It might be necessary to loosen the backrest
Velcro straps.
Make sure that the crossbar engages in the rests.
Backrest upholstery (Fig. 3)
Lay the back upholstery over the adjustable Velcro backrest and pull the bib beneath the
seat and secure it with the Velcro strap; this closes the gap between the backrest and the
seat surface.
Leg rests (Fig. 4)
Hook the leg supports in, put on the and swivel them forwards.

Foot plates (Fig. 5)

Finally, put on the footboard, fold the foot plates down and attach the heel strap.

Basic settings

Removing and connecting the rear wheels (Fig. 6)

During many adjustment operations, it is necessary to remove the rear wheels.
Press the button on the quick-release axle and reach into the spokes with four fingers.
Then pull the rear wheel (the quick-release axle) out of the axle mounting.
To connect the rear wheels, press the quick-release axle button with your thumb again.
Now insert the rear wheel (the quick-release axle) into the axle mounting; the quick-
release axle engages automatically.

Seat depth (Figs. 7 - 9)

The wheelchair is always delivered with the maximum possible seat depth. To reduce the
seat depth, first remove the leg rests. Next, open the Velcro straps on the right and left of
the seat frame. Secure the Velcro straps to the extension so that they are no longer
wrapped around the frame. Fold the extension beneath the seat and fasten the Velcro
straps to secure it there.
Carry the procedure out in the opposite sequence to increase the seat depth.
