5.1
Switching on the soldering station for the first time

CAUTION
ü Solder waste is hazardous and must not be disposed of with normal house-
hold waste!
a) Ensure safe and environmentally friendly disposal of the soldering tool!
b) Provide safe and environmentally friendly disposal of operating/auxiliary ma-
terials and replacement parts!
c) Comply with the municipal waste disposal regulations!
ü The Safety Notes listed in the chapter Safety Notes must be observed.
a) Make sure that the line voltage complies with the value specified on the type
plate.
b) Place the soldering station and the support stand on a heat-resistant, conduct-
ive ESD work surface with a connected earthing plug. It must be impossible for
the devices to tip over. Also PCBs must be placed only on the ESD work sur-
face.
c) Ensure that the On/Off switch is turned off.
d) Check the soldering tip for tight seating.
e) Place the soldering iron in the support stand. There must be no strain on the
connecting cable of the soldering iron.
f) Insert the dry cleaner.
g) Ensure correct fit of the plug in the socket. The pin in the plug must fit into the
groove in the socket.
