4.08 Gates® Carbon belt drive
Clean, quiet, light and strong. Your Electric is fitted with a Carbon Belt drive, designed for a longer-lasting, lower-maintenance drive. The
only thing you, as a driver, must do is keep the belt clean with water.

4. Get to Know Your Bike
Belt tension
Proper belt tension is essential for optimum operation. Lack
of belt tension can lead to tooth jump or "skipping". On the
other hand, too much tension can damage the bearings
within the rear hub and, in general, can increase the wear
of your drive system. You can quickly check if you have
the correct tension on the belt drive. Move the belt up and
down with your fingers. The belt should be able to move
approximately 0,5 cm up and 0,5 cm down. If the belt needs
to tightening or loosening you can do this by yourself or at a
professional local bike shop.

Dont crimp, twist, backbend, invert, bundle or zip
tie the belt. Do not use the belt as a strap Wrench or
chainwhip. Do not roll on or pry on the belt, the belt
should never be on high tension.
