INPUT VOLTAGE

You can use the INPUT VOLTAGE switches to set the input sensitivity of the high level inputs on the
respective channel pair. The following settings are possible:
2-15V: Offered for standard radios and OEM headunits.
15-40V: Should be selected if an amplified audio signal is used or if the audio signal is tapped after
an OEM factory amplifier.

INPUT LOAD
All high level inputs are equipped with EPS PRO (Error Protection System) so that no functions are
impaired or error messages are written to the vehicle memory when connected to OEM factory radios.
The input resistance of the EPS PRO protection circuit can be adjusted with the INPUT LOAD switch.
The following settings are possible:
10R: Recommended for the loudspeaker outputs of a headunit/car radio, if instead of the loudspeakers
the amplifier inputs are now connected.
150R: Recommended for factory sound systems from e.g. VW / Audi / Skoda, including those with
built-in amplifiers/boosters.
600R: Recommended for factory sound systems from e.g. BMW, e.g. also with built-in amplifier/boost-
er or if the high level input is operated in parallel with a loudspeaker.
LEVEL INPUT

With the LEVEL INPUT controllers the input sensitivity of the respective channel pair can be leveled
and adjusted accordingly. The following information should be observed:
1. Turn all LEVEL INPUT controls counter-clockwise to the MIN position.
2. IMPORTANT: From now on, be sure to observe the information on the "First system start" on the
next two pages in order to carry out the basic setup of the DSP on the PC/laptop or via app via
smartphone. To do this, follow the instructions in the ESX Toolkit Quick Start Guide starting on page
18. Go to the ESX DSP portal at: www.esxaudio.de/dsp
3. To fine-tune the input sensitivity of each channel pair, turn the respective LEVEL INPUT controller
clockwise toward MAX until slight distortions are heard from the speakers. Then slowly turn the
LEVEL INPUT control back a bit until the distortions are no longer audible.
4. You can also see the correct input level of the respective channel pair on the meter display in the
PC software and set it there exactly.
