Electrical Connection
For the AC version, two wires are required (L L 1 1 , N N ), while
for the DC version, three wires (L L + + , L L - - , P P N N P P ). The DC
version has an integrated protection against reversed
polarity and short-circuit.
A ground connection (PE) is required for the dust-Ex
version FTC 968 Z only, as the Nivector is an insulation
covered instrument of the type Protection Class II.
The AC version of the Nivector may only be connected to
the power supply when an external load is connected to
it!
A check must be made to ensure that the stated limits are
not exceeded when instruments are connected (see
Electrical Data, Page 8). Exceeding the load limits and
short-circuiting will permanently damage the limit switch!
With small voltage supplies, take into account the voltage
drop between the external load and the Nivector.
When the electronic switch of the Nivector is open, a
small no-load current will still flow. This means that any
instruments connected are not separated from the power
supply (see Technical Data).
