OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
For the engine, read the relative instructions manual.
NOTE - The number which precedes each paragraph
links the references in the text to the respective illustra-
tions (listed on page 2 and following pages).
1. COMPLETE ASSEMBLY
NOTE - The machine can be supplied with some
parts already assembled.
WARNING - Unpacking and completing the assembly
should be done on a flat and stable surface, with
enough space for moving the machine and its packa-
ging, always using suitable equipment.
Disposal of the packaging should be done in accor-
dance with the local regulations in force.
1.1
Assembling the handle bar
Connect the tie rod (1) to the two side elements of the
handle bar (2a) and (2b) and tighten the two nuts com-
pletely (3).
WARNING - The tie rod is an important safety ele-
ment so the above must be carried out correctly.
Unscrew the two nuts (4), then remove the two side
screws (5) and the head screw (6) from the support (7).
Fit the handle bar (2) on the support (7) making sure you
keep the cables under the support. Reposition the two
side screws (5) and the washers in the sequence indica-
ted, then tighten the two nuts (4) completely.
Run the jumper (8) against the support (7) and fix it with
the screw (6).
1.2
Closure of the milling cutter axles
Fit the two caps (1) on the two ends of the milling cutter
axles (2).
Oil refilling
1.3
• Drive
Lay the machine down on its right side.
Release the cotter pin (1), extract the pin (2) and remove
the milling cutters (3) and (4).
Unscrew the cap (5) and pour circa 120 cc of oil of the
same quality used for the engine in the hole.
Reassemble the cap (5) making sure to reposition the
gasket (6) and restore the milling cutters (3) and (4) with
relative pin(2) and cotter pin (1).
• Engine
Top up engine oil following the instructions given in the
relative manual.
1.4
Assembling the strut
Insert the strut (1) in its housing and fix it at the desired
height using the pin (2) and cotter pin (3).
2. CONTROLS AND REGULATIONS
NOTE – The meanings of the symbols on controls are
explained on page 6 and following.
2.1
Throttle control
The throttle is controlled by the lever (1).
Lever positions are indicated on the relevant plate.
The throttle regulates milling cutter rotary speed and, at
the same time, the machine's forward speed.
2.2
Milling cutter engagement lever
Milling cutter movement in contact with the ground moves
the machine forward.
To engage the cutters, press the safety lever (1) and pull
the engagement lever (2).
Release the lever (2), the milling cutters stop and the
machine stops moving forward.
2.3
Regulating hoeing depth
How deep milling cutters go into the ground can be re-
gulated using the strut (1) which can be positioned at 3
different heights.
The lowest position coincides with minimum hoeing
depth.
To change strut height (1), remove the cotter pin (3) and
the pin (2) and reposition it at the desired height.
2.4
Regulating the auxiliary wheel
The auxiliary wheel (1) can be positioned at two different
heights:
– lowered, in contact with the ground, to facilitate mo-
vement;
– raised, while working, to allow the milling cutters to cut
into the ground.
To shift from one position to another, grasp the wheel
(1), pull it till the pin comes out (2) from its housing in the
support (3) and reposition it at the desired height.
3. USING THE MACHINE
3.1
Starting the engine
For start up, follow the instructions in the engine manual,
then firmly pull the knob on the starter cable (1).
