3.6.2
Conditioning effect
The conditioning effect is determined by the crop quantity
passing through: a larger quantity gives less conditioning
effect. The quantity passing through can be regulated by
altering the front shield setting. This shield can be adjusted
continuously by the levers (14). To do this slide the blade tool
into the sleeve of the lever (14) using it as lever extension:
Release lever nuts (17).
1
Set lever (14) as required:
2
lever in rear position = effect decreases
lever in forward position = effect increases.
Tighten lever nuts (17).

3.6.3
Spreading adjustment
The conditioner leaves the factory with a setting to spread
the full cutting width, i.e. the conditioned crop will fully
cover the complete field. The front guides of the conditioner
housing loosen up the forage stream whilst the rear
deflector plates ensure an even crop distribution (see the
top of the illustrations below; factory adjustment, seen from
top and from below). Although depending upon crop
conditions spreading may differ. You can correct this
primarily by resetting the rearmost deflectors.
Ensure the deflector attachment bolts are tightened
well.
After that the spreading may be refined by readjusting the
forward deflectors.

Swath width and position
Prior to mowing for making a swath remove outer spreading
fingers. The width of the swath can be adjusted by means of
the lh and rh swath guides. Set a swath guide as follows:
Unscrew lever nut (19) and remove together with washer
1
(20), then pull out (downward) attachment bolt.
Set swath guide as required ensuring the attachment
2
hole of the guide correspond with a hole of the upper
plate.
If required, remove forwardmost deflector(s):
- remove both hoods (29) on top of conditioner,
- unscrew nut of respective deflector;
- pull deflector rearward out of conditioner.
- reinstall the hoods (29).
When swath guide has to be moved further outward,
deflector(s) must be refitted. Ensure they are re-
placed into the original fitting slit (see top fig. below)!
Insert attachment bolt from below through the corre-
3
sponding holes then position washer (20) and lever nut
(19) and retighten the latter.
