Installation and connection
4.2
Installation location
When selecting a suitable position for the gas pressure regulator, the
following points must be observed:
The gas pressure regulator must be installed in a protected en-
•
vironment that is not exposed to moisture, sunlight or dust
The gas pressure regulator is intended for installation in the gas
•
locker of the caravan or motor home
The gas pressure regulator contains a pressure relief valve (PRV),
•
which is used to relieve temporary overpressure in the gas
system To prevent dangerous gas from accumulating, the gas
pressure regulator must be installed in a well-ventilated space
Ventilation must be guaranteed at all times
All parts of the gas system must be securely fastened to sturdy
•
structures to prevent damage due to vehicle vibrations while
driving
The gas pressure regulator must be assembled on a sturdy wall or
•
ceiling with at least 2 screws arranged diagonally
The type plate (print) on the gas pressure regulator should be
•
legible when installed
The reset button should be easy to recognise and access
•
The reset button must not be blocked
•
Select the installation position so there is enough space when
•
changing the cylinder to avoid damage
Select the installation position so that the test connection is easily
•
accessible for the leak test
The gas pressure regulator must be installed in such a way that
•
the high-pressure hose connection is in the highest possible
location, which must be at least higher than the cylinder valve
level See broken line in figure If installation takes place below
the cylinder valve, gas in the liquid phase can penetrate into the
gas pressure regulator, damage sensitive parts and lead to gas
escaping in an uncontrolled manner Operating situations such as
the vehicle being on an incline or heating while driving must be
taken into account
