An initial squealing of the disc brakes in wet conditions is normal, but
should disappear when the brake discs are dry braked.
2.11. Bedding-in brake pads
When delivered, your brake system initially only has a weak braking effect, as the
surfaces of the brake disc and brake pads have not yet been used for braking. With
your new vehicle and also if you change the brake disc and brake pads, you should
bed-in the disc brakes as follows:
Accelerate the vehicle to approx. 25 km/h
Decelerate to a stop using both brakes (avoid blocking the wheels)
Repeat the procedure until the braking effect improves sufficiently.
Recommendation of the brake manufacturer Tektro: 30-40x.
2.12. Luggage carrier
When loading, observe the max. permissible load of the luggage carrier and include
this in the total weight. The installed luggage carriers are designed for a weight of 25
kg (see also section 1.1. and 7.1.).
2.13. Frame lock on rear wheel
The CD2 Cargo can be secured quickly and easily with the integrated frame lock.
The keys for frame lock and battery lock are the same.
To lock:
Insert the key and turn in a clockwise
direction. Hold in this position.
Push the half-ring into the spokes with the
other hand using the lever on the lock.
Release the key and remove.
To unlock the frame lock:
Insert the key and turn in a clockwise direction. The half-ring snaps back auto-
matically.
Release the key and remove.
