Legal requirements for the vehicle
The pedelec (with support up to 25 km/h) is legally equivalent to the bicycle. The
driver does not need a driving licence. The minimum age of the driver is 16 years. For
your own safety, we recommend that you always wear a suitable helmet and cycling
goggles.
The active and passive lighting equipment required for safety in Germany is installed
in accordance with the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO). The safety
equipment must be checked regularly and repaired if necessary.
Increasing the maximum support speed (= tuning) to more than 25 km/h
on your HNF-NICOLAI pedelec transforms the vehicle into a moped.
There are serious consequences in the event of a vehicle inspection or an
accident, as this is a vehicle without operating licence and insurance!
