8. Set-Up

When choosing a location, make sure to avoid impact, vibration, dust, hot and cold tem-
peratures and dampness.
There also should not be any powerful transformers, motors or other devices with a high
interference emission (e.g. energy savings lamps) in the device's proximity. Such devices
may negatively influence reception quality.
Do not put the device on any soft surfaces such as carpets, ceilings or close to curtains
and wall hangings. The required air circulation may be impaired by this. This may cause
fire in the device.
Never cover the device. Ensure proper ventilation when setting up the device. Maintain a
sufficient distance to other devices and walls.
Do not put the device up in direct proximity of heat sources. Do not point any strong spot-
lights or light sources towards the device. This may cause overheating (danger of fire!).
When setting up the product, make sure that the connection line is not pinched or dam-
aged by sharp edges.
Make sure that it has a stable footing and place it on a stable underground, since falling
off of the device may injure persons.
Observe that the device feet may leave coloured prints on certain furniture surfaces. Use
protection between your furniture and the device.
• Place the device on a level and stable surface.
• If you want to set up the device inclined, fold out the support (19) at the rear of the device.
• Completely pull out the telescopic aerial (18) and align it vertically.
• If reception is not satisfactory after connection and commissioning, change the alignment of the
telescopic aerial (18) or the site of setup of the device for best reception.
