2.9. Upgrading
2.9.1. Software extension
The MIE 8-00N can be expanded from 8 to 16 output modulators with the MIS 8-16 software extension (see 3.8 Licenses for
Software Extensions on page 53).
2.9.2. Hardware extension
The MIE 8-00N, MIE 16-00N, MIE 4-02N and MIE 3-02N can be extended with an additional hardware module.
•
MIE 8-00N and MIE 16-00N with the extension module MIM 16-00N
•
MIE 4-02N with the extension module MIM 4-02N
•
MIE 3-02N with the extension module MIM 3-02N
 Disconnect the device from the mains.
 Disassemble the cover plate on the back.
 Insert the module carefully.
The module noticeably snaps into the contacts.
 Screw the module with the screws of the cover plate.
 Then reconnect the device.
 Configure the new module as described in the chapter Configuration.
