3.4 Installation
Bottom section, complete floor/yard drain
A horizontal surface is made with compacted crushed
stone, gravel, etc. in the prepared excavations. The layer
thickness should be about 30 cm.
A layer of around 5-10 cm grit must be placed on the
compacted crushed stone, gravel layer in order to install
the full area of the bottom section (not if a complete
KESSEL System 400 floor/yard drain is installed).
If additional horizontal inlets are required, they must
be attached accordingly (see "Connection of additional
inlets", page 27) - (not if a complete KESSEL System
400 floor/yard drain is installed).
Place the bottom section or the complete floor/yard drain
on the prepared base of the excavations and connect the
inlet / inlets as well as the outlet. (If stoneware or cast
pipes are used, standard adaptors must be used).
Then align the bottom section or the floor/yard drain with
a spirit level and backfill the excavations with crushed
stone or gravel.

Insert the seals
Grease the individual parts of the seals.
Fit the seals as shown in the figure.
Pay attention to the two different seal diameters.
