If your wheelchair features drum brakes, the handles  are
used as brakes.

Backrest height

The backrest height can be adjusted into 4 positions (V500 Light 30°
with toothed adjustment) or 5 positions (V500 Light, V500 Light 30°
with gas spring).
1. Remove the star knob (1).
2. Slide the backrest upholstery up/down to the desired height.
Make sure that the hole for the star knob in the frame tube
aligns with one of the holes in the upholstery.
3. Replace the star knob and retighten.

Backrest support

The backrest of the wheelchair has a suspension system with adjustable Velcro straps, to adjust
the flexibility of the backrest.
1. Pull the backrest cushion from the Velcro straps of the
backrest.
2. Loosen the Velcro straps.
3. Pull the respective strap to the desired position. The
tension of the individual belts can be varied and the
desired support of the back can be set.
4. Place the back cushion back over the backrest starting
at the front and ending at the back.
5. Secure the Velcro connections by pressing the cushion
against the backrest with your hand.
6. Make sure that all straps are secured with Velcro.
For V500 Light 30° with toothed adjustment: when the backrest is adjusted to the lowest position,
the bottom strap can not be used. Remove the strap from the frame tubes by loosening the velcro.
1. Pull the lever  on both sides towards the push handle 
to adjust the backrest.
2. The pen Ⓐ comes out of the groove of the toothed plate
Ⓑ, or the gas spring is released.
3. Pull both back tubes backwards continuously to the
desired position (4 different positions with toothed
adjustment: 5° - 15° - 25° - 35°).
4. Release the levers. For toothed adjustment: check that the
pen Ⓐ is well fixed in the groove of the toothed plate Ⓑ.
