Safety notices
Safe handling of glass
ceramic induction hobs
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
Touching live parts may result in severe
injury or death.
■ If the surface is cracked, switch off the
appliance to avoid the possibility of
electric shock (switch off or unscrew
the fuse). Water that runs through
cracks inside the glass ceramic hob
may be live. Contact our Service Cen-
tre.
■ Do not allow objects to fall onto the
glass ceramic. Even small objects may
cause a great deal of damage if they
come into contact with glass ceramic
in a punctiform manner.
■ Note that a steam cleaner is not to be
used to clean the hob. Steam could
get through cracks into live electri-
cal components of the hob and cause
short-circuiting.
CAUTION
Risk of injury for children!
Children can injure themselves if they
play over, on or near the hob.
■ Do not store items that could be of
interest to children in the storage
space above or behind the hob. Chil-
dren could be encouraged to climb
onto the hob.
■ Do not leave pot/pan handles stick-
ing out over the edge of the worktop;
this ensures children cannot reach up
and pull down the cookware.
Risk of burns!
Even with induction hobs, the cooking
zones get very hot during operation and
will remain hot after they are switched
off. This residual heat is indicated by
the residual heat indicator.
■ Metallic objects such as knives, forks,
spoons and lids should not be placed
on the hob surface, since they can get
hot.
■ After use, switch off the hob element
by its control and do not rely on the
pan detector. If you only remove the
pot from the cooking zone, the zone
will be reactivated as soon as a pot or
other object made of ferromagnetic
material is placed on it.
■ Caution in the event of a power cut:
residual heat may not be indicated.
■ Allow the oven to cool down com-
pletely before cleaning.
Exception: Remove sugary or starchy
contaminants, plastic or aluminium
foil from the hot glass ceramic imme-
diately using a standard sharp scrap-
er. While doing so protect the hands
from burns with oven gloves or pot
holders.
Fire hazard!
Unattended cooking on a hob with fat
or oil can be dangerous and may result
in fire.
■ NEVER try to extinguish a fire with
water, but switch off the appliance
and then cover flame e.g. with a lid or
a fire blanket.
■ Do not store items on the cooking
surfaces.
