11.2
Shutting the engine off
11.2.1 Emergency stop procedure
If it is necessary to stop the device immediately, press the on/
off button (16) to position "0" and keep it pressed in this posi-
tion until the engine has come to a standstill.
11.2.2 Normal procedure
1.
Loosen the throttle lock (7).
2.
Release the throttle (8).
3.
Press the on/off button (16) to position "0" and keep it
pressed in this position until the engine has come to a
standstill.
11.3
Set the engine speed.
Set the desired engine speed for operating the device using
the throttle lever (8). The throttle lever position can be adjusted
with the throttle lever lock (7).
Note
Avoid running the engine at full power for the first 6-8 operat-
ing hours.
11.4
Leaf blower operation
When operating the device as a leaf blower, hold the device
by the handle at the top (9).
The engine speed should be adapted to the type of material
to be removed:
• Use the engine at low speed for light material on the lawn.
• Use the engine at average speed to move grass and light
leaves on asphalt or solid ground.
• Use the engine at high speed for heavier materials such as
fresh snow or dirt.
CAUTION
Always make sure that no objects or dust are blown in the
direction of people or animals and make sure that objects
will not be damaged. Always observe the wind direction and
never work against the wind.
11.5
Operation of the petrol leaf vacuum
CAUTION
The device must always be held with both hands during work.
• Place your left hand on the top handle (9) and your right
hand on the bottom handle (21).
• Hold the bottom handle (21) so that the collection bag (24)
is on the right side of the operator.
• When used as a leaf vacuum, it is best to operate the en-
gine at medium/high speed.
• During collection, hold the rounded end of the suction noz-
zle (12) a few centimetres above the ground.
The collection bag (24) also works like a filter, similar to an
ordinary house hoover. For this reason it is best:
• To avoid completely filling the collection bag (24);
• To remove bulky objects immediately.
11.5.1 Empty the collection bag (24)
• Switch off the engine.
• Open the zip of the collection bag (24) and empty the collec-
tion bag (24) without detaching it from the outlet tube (18).
Note
When using the leaf vacuum, do not collect wet grass or
leaves, otherwise there is a risk of jamming the rotor or the
collection bag.
Note
When using the device as a leaf vacuum, there is a risk of suck-
ing in objects that may block the device and the rotor.
In this case:
• Switch the engine off immediately!
• Remove the spark plug connector cover (17).
• Pull off the spark plug connector (30).
• Remove the vacuum tube (14).
• Remove the foreign object from the vacuum inlet.
• Make sure that nothing is blocking the rotor before using
the device again.
Note
If the bag is too full this reduces the efficiency of the device
and can cause the engine to overheat.
11.6

End of work

Switch the device off.
Remove the spark plug connector (30) to avoid unintentional
start-up (see chapter 13.2.2 Spark plug maintenance).
Clean the device (see chapter 13. Cleaning and mainte-
nance).

12. Working instructions

• The machine must only be operated at reasonable times -
not early in the morning or late at night when others may
be disturbed. The times listed with the local authorities must
be followed.
• Before starting to blow, loosen foreign objects with a rake
and broom.
• In dusty conditions, lightly moisten the surface or use an
irrigation attachment if available.

13. Cleaning and maintenance

Only carry out cleaning and maintenance work to the extent
specified in this operating manual. Further work must be car-
ried out by qualified specialists.
13.1
Cleaning
CAUTION
Always switch off the device and disconnect the spark plug
connector before cleaning (see chapter 13.2.2 Spark plug
maintenance).
Note
The device should be thoroughly cleaned after each use.
