Hints and tips when cutting hedges Fig. 5
• The extension cable must remain behind the hedge
trimmer during cutting so that it cannot be caught
by the blades.
• Ensure your have a secure footing, hold the device
with both hands and switch it on.
• Cut the hedge from both ends, starting at the
bottom. This way, you avoid cutting debris falling into
the area that is still to be cut.
• Run the device lightly over the surface of the hedge.
Do not attempt to cut too deeply.
• Then cut the upper part of the hedge.
• For older hedges that need more pruning, first cut
off thicker branches and twigs with pruning shears
before using the device to trim the hedge.
• Make sure to remove any foreign objects from the
hedges (e.g. wire), since it may damage the cutting
unit of the hedge trimmer.
• Attention! The blades are still running! Do not stop
the blades with your hand.
ATTENTION:
Incorrect use and misuse can damage the hedge
trimmer and cause severe injuries due to thrown out
parts.
To minimise the risk of accidents by using the cutting
blade, take note of the following points:
• Never cut shrubs or timbers with a diameter of more
than 1.8 cm.
• Avoid contact with metal bodies, stones, etc.
• Periodically check the cutting blade for damages.
Never continue to use a damaged cutting blade.
• When the cutting blade becomes apparently blunt,
it must be sharpened by a qualified specialist. When
the cutting blade is apparently out of balance, it must
be replaced.

12. Electrical connection

The electrical motor installed is connected and ready
for operation. The connection complies with the
applicable VDE and DIN provisions.
The customer's mains connection as well as the
extension cable used must also comply with these
regulations.
Damaged electrical connection cable
The insulation on electrical connection cables is often
damaged.
This may have the following causes:
• Pressure points, where connection cables are
passed through windows or doors.
• Kinks where the connection cable has been
improperly fastened or routed.
• Places where the connection cables have been cut
due to being driven over.
• Insulation damage due to being ripped out of the wall
