6.7.2 Registering the robot lawn mower
The robot lawn mower comes with an IoT function
(IoT = Internet of Things). It uses an integrated
SIM chip to connect to the available mobile phone
network, making it independent of Bluetooth or
WLAN. In the fi rst 5 years you will not be charged
anything for using the robot lawn mower in the
mobile phone network; these costs are covered
by the purchase price. Information about the re-
maining period of use and the possibility of an ex-
tension can be consulted in the app. In the factory
default state the function is deactivated and the
robot lawn mower will try to connect to the net-
work (indicated by a line through the connection
symbol on the LCD (50)). To activate your robot
lawn mower, follow the instructions in the app.
When connection to the network is successful
this will be indicated on the LCD (50) and you
can now use the app's numerous setting options
and functions. Once you have made any settings
in the app, make sure that both the robot lawn
mower and your smart-phone have a secure
internet connection. For the robot lawn mower to
be operated automatically in SMART mode over
a programmed work period, the only requirement
is for the robot lawn mower to be connected with
the internet.
6.7.3 Resetting the registration
If there is no line through the connection symbol
on the LCD (50) when you start up your robot
lawn mower for the fi rst time, you will need to
reset the robot lawn mower and register it on your
name. To do so, get in touch with our customer
service center and have the purchase receipt and
serial number of your robot lawn mower ready to
hand.
6.8 Operating the robot lawn mower
The robot lawn mower has numerous operating
modes, which means that you start up the robot
lawn mower in diff erent ways. The app provides
you with numerous setting options for your robot
lawn mower and also lets you view its statistics
and current status. The app also presents you
with error messages and warnings during opera-
tion.

You can operate the robot lawn mower manually
at its control panel (2) as well as by using the app.
6.8.1 Manual mowing
Start the robot lawn mower manually with the app.
The robot lawn mower will begin to mow the lawn
for exactly one cycle until the battery charge level
drops below 30 %. At this point the robot lawn
mower will return to the charging station (19) and
end its work cycle. Operation of the robot lawn
mower is fully manual in this case – it will not be-
gin to mow again at a preselected time.
6.8.2 Time schedule control
You can use the navigation buttons (55) on the
robot lawn mower to enter settings in the time
schedule. The robot lawn mower will then mow
the lawn automatically at the set times. These set-
tings can also be entered in the app for sending
to the robot lawn mower.
6.8.3 SMART control
In SMART mode the robot lawn mower is able
to work automatically with optimized operating
times for your garden and for the current weather
conditions. Every day the robot lawn mower au-
tomatically adapts the respective work interval
accordingly on an individual basis. Make sure that
the robot lawn mower is always connected to the
network. Some specifi c data are needed in order
to be able to use SMART mode. The app requires
you to enter the following information:

Location: This entry enables access to
location-specific weather data so that the ro-
bot lawn mower can mow in accordance with
weather conditions.
•
Intensity: Enter the degree of intensity with
which you want the robot lawn mower to mow
the lawn. This depends on the growth of your
lawn. Begin with low intensity and adjust as
required.
•
Area to be mowed: Enter the estimated size
of the area you want to mow. Only the area of
lawn you want the robot lawn mower to mow
is relevant.
•
Time schedule: Define the time intervals
when you don't want the robot lawn mower to
mow. It can make sense to limit the mowing
times accordingly.
The robot lawn mower is used preferably during
day-time hours in order to prevent it from colliding
with semi-nocturnal and nocturnal animals such
as hedgehogs. The robot lawn mower calculates
its individual time schedule continuously on the
basis of the data provided.
