A GENERAL
Please read these instructions thoroughly before using this product and follow all the
information contained within. Failure to observe these instructions can lead to a reduction
in the protection this product provides.
Please note: mountaineering and climbing are dangerous sports which may lead to unfo-
reseeable risks. You are personally responsible for every action and decision you take. You
should acquaint yourself with the related risks before undertaking these activities. WILD
COUNTRY recommends that you seek proper training from professionals (such as moun-
tain guides or climbing schools) before any mountain-related activity. It is important to
become familiar with rescue operations and how they are carried out safely and correctly.
The manufacturer declines any responsibility in case of improper or wrong use. Make sure
all the components in your protection equipment are certified.
This product is made in conformity with PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and with
Regulation 2016/425 on personal protective equipment as brought into UK law and
amended.
You can view the EU and UKCA Declaration of Conformity under www.wildcountry.com.
The product meets the category III for personal protective equipment (PPE).
B INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Only use the product for the purpose for which it was constructed and never burden it
beyond its limits.

WARNING: We have not shown all possible misuses.
Rope clamp for ascending rope, for climbing and mountaineering purposes, for use in
normal climatic conditions.
This product prevents the risk of falling during climbing and mountaineering.
Ropeman 1/2 is in accordance with the European standard EN 567:2013.

B2 ROPE CLAMP INSTALLATION
1.Open the mobile side plate (B) by rotating it. When correctly positioned, the clamping
cam (D) rotates with the mobile side plate.
2. Insert the rope
3. Close mobile side plate (B);
4. Insert the locking carabiner into locking carabiner hole (E);
5. Before use, verify that the rope slides towards the desired direction and locks in the
opposite one.

WARNING
This product may not function on iced or muddy ropes.
This device is not suitable to be used on wire cables.
Do not use with two ropes.
The instructions for use supplied with the product are always to be stored with the pro-
duct. This product is only to be used by appropriately trained and/or competent persons,
or when the user is under the direct supervision of such a qualified person.
Make sure compatible and certified parts are used. We recommend the sole use of moun-
taineering equipment which complies to the relevant Norms EN 892 for dynamic ropes,
EN 1891 for low stretch ropes, EN 564 for accessory cord, EN 12277 for harnesses, EN
12275 for oval and HMS carabiner.
WARNING
If there is the least doubt about the safety of the product, it is to be replaced immediately.
A product which has been subject to a fall impact force is not to be used again.
Any change to this product can reduce safety significantly.
Direction of load must be in line with the spine of the carabiner. Make sure that both
sidesplates are loaded equally.
Do not insert slings, cords or ropes in the locking carabiner hole
D LIFESPAN
The lifespan of the product is dependent on a number of factors, such as the manner and
frequency of use, UV exposure, moisture, ice, effects of weather, storage conditions, and
dirt (sand, salt, etc.). Under extreme conditions the lifespan can be reduced to a single
usageor even less, if the equipment has suffered damage (for example during transport)
before ever being used.
The potential lifespan of metal products is unlimited, since the effective lifespan depends
on the previously mentioned factors. WILD COUNTRY recommends replacing these pro-
ducts after maximum ten years.
E CLEANING, STORAGE, TRANSPORT AND SERVICING
See diagram E for guidelines on correct storage and care.
Do not allow this product to come into contact with aggressive chemicals (e. g. battery
acid, solvents) or expose it to extreme temperatures as these events can have a negative
impact on the mechanical features of the materials. Ensure that the product is kept safe
during storage and transport and is protected from damage. If necessary (eg. contact with
dirt or saltwater), wash the product in lukewarm water and rinse with clear water (max.
30°). Make sure that the product does not come into contact with chemicals. Leave to dry
at room temperature. Disinfect the material only with substances which have no impact
on the synthetic material used.
