• Rate assignments are retained in memory even when the calculator is turned off, as long as battery power or AC power
is being supplied to the calculator. All assignments will be deleted whenever power to the calculator is cut off (due to low
battery power, the AC power cord being unplugged, power outage, etc.)
• Pressing CA to clear the calculation memory does not clear independent memory or the rate setting.
Euro Currency Conversion
■ Setting a Conversion Rate
Example: To set the conversion rate for your local currency as 1 euro = 1.95583 DM (Deutsche marks)
Operation
1. Press CA.
2. Hold down SET for about three seconds. The display goes blank during this time, but after about three seconds the
conversion rate input screen appears.
3. Input the conversion rate (1.95583) and then press the key (Local 1, Local 2, Local 3) to which you want to assign
it.

For rates of 1 or greater, you can input up to six digits. For rates less than 1 you can input up to 8 digits, including 0 for

the integer digit and leading zeros (though only six significant digits, counted from the left and starting with the first non-
zero digit, can be specified).
Examples:

• You can check the rate currently assigned to a Local key (Local 1, Local 2, Local 3) by pressing CA and then the
key whose settings you want to check. The setting data appears on the display, but is not printed.
• The following are the factory default rate settings.

• If you make a mistake while inputting a rate, press C and then set the correct rate.
• You can check the currently set rate at any time by pressing CA and then TAX+.
