"ARC detection with shutdown" contains a du/dt detector that identifies output
voltage flashovers and disables the HV output in such cases; this status is
signalled with the 'ARC Detection' LED at the front panel.
ARC-Detection
Reset
The function "Arc detection with shutdown" is switchable via ON/OFF switch on the
front panel. If the shutdown is deactivated (switch in Off position), the ARC
detection works as described under option 55. A signal indicating the occurrence
of a flashover via a potential-free contact at the analog interface pin 14/15.
DANGER, RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
High voltage is applied immediately at the output once ARC
detection is reset by pressing the reset button.
ARC detection is triggered under the following conditions:
du ≥ 10% U
dt ≥ 100 ms
N O T E
ARC detection may be triggered under load conditions when the high
voltage power supply is shut down using the HV button.

current can be set with a screwdriver by
adjusting the trim potentiometers at the front.
Preset
For checking the threshold values on the
display gauges the 'Preset' button has to be
pressed. When the power supply is in
operation, the LED 'OCP' or 'OVP' indicate if a
limit value has been reached.
