d) Operating Mode: USB/Shared-Media Music Player
The Internet radio can play back either music from a USB stick or through the home network, using Shared
Media (UpnP server, e.g. Windows Media Player 11 or higher).
1. Submenu „Shared media": Playing back music via home network
• After selection of the submenu „Shared Media", the available released directories (e.g. of a computer
with a Windows operating system) in your home network are displayed.
How to release a directory with music data in your operating system, so that it can be used for playback
via the Internet radio depends on the operating system used. For more detailed information on this, see
the Internet or the corresponding specialist literature.
• Operation when playing back the music data corresponds to the procedure when using a USB data
carrier; see below.
2. Submenu „USB playback": Playing back music via USB stick
The USB stick must be formatted in file format „FAT32" (no NTFS, etc.). USB sticks up to a capa-
city of 16GB are recognised.
• Carefully plug the USB stick into the USB connection (N) on the front of the Internet radio.
• After selection and confirmation of the function, the USB stick should be recognised and a message
should appear in the display asking whether the root directory is to be displayed or not.
When confirming this message, the root directory of the connected USB stick will appear.
• Now use the setting wheel or the arrow buttons on the IR remote control to select a music file to play

Start playback by pushing the setting wheel or pushing the button „
• Briefly pushing „ c 44" (8) on the IR remote control will cause playback to jump to the beginning of the
current track. Push the button again briefly, and playback will return to the previous track.
• Briefly pushing „66 c " (11) on the IR remote control will cause playback to jump to the next title.
• To rewind, keep the button „ c 44" (8) pushed.
• To fast forward, keep the button „66 c " (11) pushed.
• Use the button „63" (10) to pause and resume playback.
• Keeping the button „
to the playback list („Playlist"). This is possible during playback or when selecting the music files.
The music files are then found in the playback list in the 3rd submenu „My Playlist" (see below) and can
be selected and played back there accordingly. You can delete this playlist in the 6th submenu „Clear My
Playlist".
• The setting wheel on the Internet radio or the arrows „

• If the Internet radio is in a subdirectory of the USB data carrier when playing back, you can use the but-
ton „BACK" (M) on the Internet radio or the button „<" (3) of the IR remote control to jump one directory
level up.
• The button „INFO" on the Internet radio (K) or the IR remote control (5) permits display of information on
the music file (e.g. the bit rate).
