Once it goes out, the set oven temperature
has been reached. The red temperature
indicator light goes on and off repeatedly
during the entire cooking time.

Oven lighting

NOTICE
Use the oven light only to illuminate the
cooking compartment. It is not suitable
for lighting a room.

you open the oven door.

Switching off the oven

1. Turn the temperature controller (1) an-
ti-clockwise to the '0' position.

The red temperature indicator light (2)
goes out.
2. Turn the function selector (5) back to the
'0' position. The oven light and the yellow
power indicator light switch off (4).

If the oven does not turn on

If the oven does not turn on, the display will
show the reason. There are two possible rea-
sons:
– The oven only works when the time is set.

Otherwise, the display flashes (see „The
timer" on page EN-19).
– The oven is in automatic mode. "AUTO" (see
„The timer" on page EN-19) lights up in the
display.

Tips for saving energy

– Preheat the oven only if it is called for in the
recipe or stipulated in the cooking tables
provided.
– Use dark-coloured baking dishes and trays
when possible. They effectively absorb the
heat.
– Avoid frequently opening the oven door
during cooking, baking or roasting.
– Bake several cakes one after the oth-
er while the oven is still warm in order to
shorten the baking time for subsequent
"oven light-
cakes. If you use loaf tins, place both of
them side by side in the oven.
– In the case of longer cooking times, switch
the oven off 10 minutes before the end of
the cooking time. The residual heat is suffi-
cient enough to complete the cooking.
