Identsensor
Startup (continued)
On delivery, the Identsensor is ready for operation.
The device's firmware is subject to continuous revi-
sion and increases the performance of the device.
The current firmware version is located on
www.balluff.com in the product download sec-
tion.
Besides the Identsensor, the following is required:

Requirements: at least category 5e in accordance with
EIA/TIA-568. Transfer in accordance with 1000BASET/
100BASE-TX/10BASE-T is being supported.
Establish a connection with the Identsensor
1. Connect the Identsensor via the LAN port with the
network (fixed IP address) or with a PC directly (LLA/
Zeroconf), or via IO-Link (using der Power I/O cable;
see 2.).
2. Connect the power supply at the Power port with the
power supply (24 V).
The Identsensor starts up and is operational after
approx. 100 seconds.
The Identsensor is shipped with the following fixed IP
address (LAN connection): 192.168.10.2 (Subnetzmaske
255.255.255.0). The network must be configured ac-
cordingly and port 80 should be enabled in the firewall
settings.
A direct LAN connection with a PC, which is set to "Obtain
an IP address automatically" initiates a LLA/Zeroconf-
connection. After approx. 5 minutes a connection to the
BVS ID is possible via:
http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.local (see part label)
Connecting the Identsensor via IO-Link with an accordingly
configured IO-Link Master, then the Identsensor is running
in IO-Link communication mode.
At the start, the Identsensor opens the most recently ope-
ned inspection and executes it.
Execute Auto Setup
1. Press on the Auto Setup button for at least 2 and to a
maximum of 4 seconds.

Reset network settings (optional)
You can reset the network settings of the Identsensor
temporarily to the shipment state (http://192.168.10.2/) the
following way until the next restart:

Light up for 3 seconds – Auto Setup was successful .
Six-times short flashing – Auto Setup failed.
