forces must be absorbed by the awning and transferred to the mounting
plane via the fixing brackets. Before first use, make sure that all screws are
firmly tightened.

Qualifications
The installation instructions are designed for use by a qualified technician who
has thorough knowledge of the following areas:
• Occupational safety, operational safety and accident prevention regula-
tions
• Working with ladders and scaffolding
• Handling and transport of long, heavy components
Manual operation
• The operating element for the hand crank must be accessible at a height
of less than 1.8 metres.
Climbing aids:
• Aids should not be leaned against the awning or secured to it. They must
be positioned firmly and offer sufficient support. Use only climbing aids that
have sufficiently high load-bearing capacity.
Fall protection:
• When working at great heights there is a risk of falling. Appropriate protec-
tion measures should be used.
Test run:
• When the awning is extended for the first time there should not be anyone
in the area or under the awning. The fixing materials and brackets should
be subjected to a visual inspection after extending the awning for first time.
Usage when there is wind:
If the awning is installed correctly, it will satisfy the requirements of the wind
resistance class as specified in the technical specifications. The awning
should be used only in the wind speeds declared in the wind resistance class.
Wind resistance class 2:
The awning may remain extended up to a maximum of wind strength 5.
Definition according to Beaufort: fresh breeze, fresh wind. Small broad-leafed
trees begin to sway. White crests form on the seas. Speed 28-37 km/h = 7.5-
10.4 m/s.

Usage when there is rain:
If the inclination of the awning is less than 35% = 19°, measured horizontally,
then the awning should not be extended in the rain. There is a risk of water
accumulating in the cloth of the awning, as a result of which the awning may
be damaged or fall down.
Usage when there is snow and ice:
• The awning should not be extended when there is a risk of snow or frost.
There is a risk that the awning may be damaged or fall.
Leaves and foreign bodies:
• Leaves and other materials on the awning cloth, in the awning box and for-
eign bodies lying on the guide rails should be removed immediately. There
is a risk that the awning may be damaged or fall.
Obstacles:
• There should not be any obstructions in the extension area of the awning.
There is a risk of people being crushed.
• There is a crushing and cutting area between the moving parts of the awn-
ing. Clothing or body parts can be caught by these moving parts.
• Any additional loads on the awning caused by attached objects or rope ten-
sioning may lead to damage and falling of the awning and are therefore not
permitted.
Maintenance:
• Safe and risk-free use of the awning can be guaranteed only if the awning
is inspected and maintained on a regular basis. Inspect the awning regu-
larly for signs of wear or damage to its covering material or frame.
• If any damages are identified, a professional should be given the task of
repairing it. Awnings that are in need of repair should not be used.
Installation
Installing the product
DANGER! Risk to life! Two persons must be present when installing
the awning. Two ladders are required. The awning should be attached
precisely horizontally to guarantee a smooth extension and retraction
of the awning. Maintain a safe stance during the installation process.
ATTENTION! Product damages! The angle of inclination of the fabric
must be set to the same level on both sides. If the drop bar is not hori-
zontal, the awning cloth will be rolled unevenly which may lead to dam-
age.

Cleaning and care

ATTENTION! Product damages! Do not expose the awning to wet
weather conditions unnecessarily! Ripples in the vicinity of the hem,
seam and panels is the result of multiple ply fabric and different wrap-
ping thickness on the cloth spindle. The stretching in the material that
results can produce patterns on the fabric (e.g. honeycomb or herring-
bone patterns). Likewise ripples from wrapping next to the seam on the
rolled up and unrolled cloth are caused by double ply material.
If the awning becomes wet, extend as soon as possible to allow it to dry.
Unsightly spots may appear if wet awning fabric is rolled up for longer periods
of time.
The awning fabric can be cleaned by dry brushing. Remove persistent dirt and
stains with warm soapy water and a brush. Allow fabric to dry before retracting.
Disposal
Disposing of the appliance
A crossed-out wheelie bin icon means: Batteries and rechargeable
batteries, electrical or electronic devices must not be disposed of with
household waste. They may contain substances that are harmful to the
environment and human health.
Consumers must dispose of waste electrical devices, spent portable
batteries and rechargeable batteries separately from household waste at an
official collection point to ensure that these items are processed correctly.
Information on returning these items is available from the seller. Sellers are
required to accept these items free of charge.
Batteries and rechargeable batteries, which are not permanently
installed in waste electrical devices, must be removed prior to disposal
and must be disposed of separately. Lithium batteries and battery
packs in all systems must only be retuned to a collection point when
discharged. Batteries must always be protected against short circuits by cov-
ering the poles with adhesive tape.
All end users are responsible for deleting any personal data stored on waste
devices prior to their disposal.
– Bring batteries which are no longer usable to the battery collection point of
the dealer or of your local authority.
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging consists of cardboard and correspondingly marked
plastics that can be recycled.
– Make these materials available for recycling.
Troubleshooting and help
What to do when something doesn't work...
Note: For perfect operation of the awning, we recommend you lubri-
cate or oil the hinged elements between the hinged arms at regular
intervals.
Note: After multiple uses of the awning, the hinged arms may hang at
the wrong angle or unevenly. If this happens, the hinged arms must be
readjusted.
