4 Function description
The Dräger X-node sensing head contains the signal processing electronics of

a sensor in the DrägerSensor format. The sensing head and sensor together
constitute the measurement system. The Vol% (volume percent), ppb (part per
billion) or ppm (parts per million) measuring units are volume concentrations.
Irrespective of the sensor used, the ambient pressure, temperature, relative
humidity, acceleration and the alignment of the device are measured.
4.1 Status visualisation
The status LED is controlled by the set alarm thresholds. The alarm thresholds
are preconfigured specifically for each sensor (see sensor technical data) and
can be changed individually.

Intended use

The measurement system constantly measures the concentration of the harmful
gas, depending on the sensor used, in the ambient air under atmospheric
conditions.
6 Usage
6.1

Prerequisites for use

Risk of malfunction
The function of the sensing head is tested prior to delivery, but a functional test
must still be carried out after installation (see chapter "Testing the sensitivity").
► A functional test must be carried out by the user.
6.2

Installing the sensor

1. Twist off the bayonet ring (5). Remove the dummy disc.
2. Remove the sensor from its packaging.
3. Place the sensor (4) in the opening.
4. Secure the sensor with the bayonet ring.
7 Dräger X-node app
To configure the sensing head, install the Dräger X-node app on a Bluetooth-
enabled iOS or Android device.
The Dräger X-node app is used for data exchange with Dräger X-node gas
sensing heads via Bluetooth. The initial connection to the device via Bluetooth
can only be established with the help of an Owner Key for reasons of safety.
The Owner Key is enclosed in the package. Additional information can be found
in the device's technical manual.
