Operating the dock leveller

Fig. a , page A13. The operation of the dock leveller
comprises the following steps:
1. The vehicle to be loaded or unloaded must be
positioned in front of the ramp and secured
against rolling away by means of the vehicle
parking brake and wheel chocks.
Take the operating lever out of its holder and
place it into the opening provided for it.
2. Pull the control lever backwards. The dock leveller
platform will lift up. In the uppermost position, the
hinged lip folds out.
3. Slowly lower the dock leveller platform onto the
vehicle loading area.
4. Take out the lever from the operating position and
place it back into the holder. The dock leveller can
now be driven over for loading or unloading.
5. In order to fold in the hinged lip, take the
operating lever out of its holder and place it into
the opening of the dock leveller platform.
6. Lift the dock leveller platform from the truck
loading area in one quick movement. The hinged
lip folds in.
7. Lower the dock leveller just before its uppermost
position and then put it into rest position.
8. Take out the operating lever from the operating
position and place it back into the holder. The
truck can now leave the loading bay.

• The dock leveller must be visible
from the place of operation.
• During lifting and lowering the dock
leveller, it is not permitted to per-
sons to be in the travel path of the
dock leveller.
Tripping or falling hazard when the
CAUTION
dock leveller platform is raised!
When the dock leveller platform is
raised and not in use, there is a tripping
or falling hazard.
• Put the dock leveller into rest posi-
tion immediately after use.
Only for installation situation RX:
CAUTION
Danger of falling when entering the
buffer boxes!
The buffer boxes are not equipped with
fall protection devices.
• Do not enter the buffer boxes.
These assembly, operation and maintenance instructions must be kept for the entire period of use!
5.3.1 Positioning the truck
• Make sure that there is no person or obstacle
between the dock leveller and the truck
approaching in reverse.
• Position the truck with the door open and the tail
lift lowered.
• Lock the truck in place using the brake and wheel
chock or safety wheel chock (optional).
5.3.2 Placing the dock leveller on the truck
loading area
Falling hazard when loading!
CAUTION
If the contact surface of the hinged lip
on the truck loading area is too small,
the dock leveller platform can slip off.
• The hinged lip width must be in the
range of 80 mm to 130 mm. The en-
tire width of the hinged lip has to be
firmly placed on the truck.
• Place the hinged lip of the loading ramp on the
truck loading area.
• The dock leveller can now be driven over.
• Put the dock leveller into rest position
immediately after use.
