Operation with the SIMATIC Management Agent

In order to integrate the IPC bundles into the plant managed with the SIMATIC Management Console, you can install or
activate the SMA (SIMATIC Management Agent) during the initial commissioning or system restore.
You can choose whether or not to use the SMA in this dialog:
Initial situation
Use A1 Image (Windows operating system only)
Yes The SMA corresponding to the PCS 7 version is
installed and the associated SIMATIC Management
Agent service is activated. After this, manage the
computer by means of the SIMATIC Management
Console.
No -
You can also install the SMA manually via the Restore USB stick "Additional_Products\SMA" or activate it in the operating
system later on.

Operation with DiagMonitor monitoring software

Installing DiagMonitor

If your device uses the "A1 image" (see "Scope of delivery of the software (Page 17)"), you can install the DiagMonitor
monitoring software as follows.
Procedure
1. Insert the Restore USB stick into your device.
2. Navigate to the "Additional_Products" folder and open the version-specific DiagMonitor folder.
3. Run the following files:
DiagMonitor_Silent_Install.bat
–
CM_Activate.exe
–
The DiagMonitor monitoring software is installed.
4. Reboot the computer.
5. Configure the SNMP service. You will find information on this in the section: "Configuring SNMP service (Page 25)".
6. Now configure the monitoring functions of DiagMonitor. You will find information on this in the section: "Configuring
monitoring functions (Page 25)".

The "SIMATIC Management Agent" service is
activated. After this, manage the computer by means
of the SIMATIC Management Console.
The SMA remains on the computer with the
associated service SIMATIC Management Agent
disabled (this behavior matches that of the manual
PCS 7 installation).
