Configuring SNMP service
SNMP service is installed on your computer. It is preset in such a way that SNMP packets are accepted from any host. You can
change this setting.
Procedure
1. Select "Computer Management > Services and Applications > Services".
2. Double-click "SNMP Service'".
The "Properties" windows opens.
3. Select the "Security" tab.
4. Select one of the following options:
Accept SNMP packets from any host
–
No further settings are required here.
Accept SNMP packets from these hosts.
–
For the station to be monitored, enter the local address or the local computer name and the address of the
maintenance server (both addresses for a redundant MS server).
On the Maintenance Server, enter the local address or local computer name.
5. Under "Accepted community names", enter the name used in the configuration with read/write permissions.
6. Confirm your entries.
Configuring monitoring functions
Perform the configuration of the monitoring functions for all the monitored stations.
Requirement
You have started the SIMATIC IPC DiagMonitor Management Explorer with administrator rights.
1. Select "Start > SIMATIC DiagMonitor > Management Explorer"
2. Select the menu command "Station > Add...".
3. Select the "Local station" for which you want to monitor certain events.
4. Configure the desired events, for example, cyclic operating hour interrupts.
5. Confirm your entries.
Disabling automatic start of the SIMATIC IPC DiagMonitor Management
Explorer
The DiagMonitor monitoring software starts automatically when you log on to your device. The SIMATIC IPC DiagMonitor
Management Explorer configuration tool is then displayed automatically. You can disable this function.
1. Select the "Settings" item in the "Tools" menu of the SIMATIC IPC DiagMonitor Management Explorer configuration tool.
2. Disable the "Start with Windows" option.
3. Confirm your entries.
