11. Keep the cable out of the cutting zone.
During operation the cable may be hidden by the
hedge and be cut through by accident.
12. Examine the cutting system regularly for
signs of damage and, if necessary, arrange for
the machine to be professionally repaired by a
qualiÿed electrician or a specialist workshop.
13. If the blades become jammed, e.g. due to
thick branches or the like, switch o˜ and r emove
the battery immediately. Only then are you to
remove the cause of the obstruction.
14. Never attempt to remove the cuttings with
the motor running or to hold material you wish
to cut.
15. Keep the machine in a dry place out the reach
of children. Children are not allowed to use the
machine.
16. During transportation and storage of the
machine, keep the blades covered at all times
with the special guard.
17. Take care not to overload the machine and do
not use it on jobs for which it is not intended, i.e.
you are allowed to use the machine only to cut
hedges, shrubs and perennials.
18. The machine requires regular inspection and
maintenance. Always replace damaged blades
in pairs. If the machine su˜ ers any damage from
impact (falling on hard ground etc.), have it
checked immediately by a specialist.
19. Look after your machine carefully. Keep it
clean and sharp to ensure e˝cien t and safe
cutting. Follow the maintenance and cleaning
instructions.
20. The use of electric machines by persons
aged 17 or less is prohibited. Persons aged 18
and above may only use electric machines if
supervised by an adult.
21. Do not use the machine with a damaged or
excessively worn cutting system.
22. Check your surroundings and take note of any
potential dangers which you may not be able to
hear due to the noise of machine.
23. It is advisable not to use the machine when
other persons, and particularly children, are
nearby.

1. When working with the machine, keep
all body parts away from the blade. Before
starting the machine, you must make sure that
the blade is not in contact with any objects.
When working with the machine, a single
moment of inattentiveness may result in clothes
or body parts becoming trapped in the blade.
2. Always hold the machine with your right
hand at the rear handle and your left hand
at the front handle. Holding the machine in
reverse order increases the risk of injury and is
prohibited.
3. Wear goggles and hearing protection.
Further protective equipment for your head,
hands, legs and feet is recommended. Suitable
protective clothing reduces the risk of injury
caused by °ying chips and unin tended contact
with the blade.
4. Do not work with the machine on trees.
Work on trees carries the risk of severe injury.
5. Stand securely and keep your balance at
all times. Operate the machine only when
standing on solid, secure and even ground. On
slippery surfaces or unstable platforms such as
ladders, you may lose your balance or the control
on the machine.
6. When cutting branches under tension,
be prepared that they may spring back. If
the tension in the timber ÿbres is released, the
