COMMISSIONING
Connect to the TV
Use a high quality HDMI cable to connect the device to your TV.
Notes:
The device also has analog video outputs. However, we recommend using an HDMI connection
to the TV. This is the only way to achieve high picture quality. If no picture appears on your TV
with an HDMI connection, please first check whether you have selected the correct HDMI socket
as the signal source. Please refer to the manual of your TV for details.
The screen resolution can be adjusted in the Settings menu (page 22). To achieve the best dis-
play performance on the analog output, you must set the HDMI resolution to 576i! If a higher
resolution is output via HDMI, the performance of the analog image output is reduced.
Connecting to a HiFi system (optional)
You can get analog audio signals from the SCART output of the device. An adapter cable may be requi-
red for this. For digital transmission, e.g. to a home cinema system, use the HDMI connection. You can
make settings for this in the menu (page 23).
Establishing the connection to the antenna
The receiver parts of the device are suitable for antenna television (DVB-T/T2). Connect the cable of
your antenna system to the antenna input of the device (page 16). Make sure that no short circuits occur
at the connector. You can loop the antenna signal through to another device via the loop connection.
Notes:
DVB-T/T2 reception with an indoor antenna is not possible in all regions. Please consult your
local dealer for advice.
The device only receives free-to-air TV and cannot display Internet channels (Connect) or deco-
de PayTV channels.
USB Port
The device has a USB 2.0 port for playing music, image or video files. USB devices such as mass stora-
ge devices (USB sticks, hard disks) can be connected to this port. Also observe the notes on page 15 of
the manual.
Notes:
Not all commercially available USB storage devices meet the specifications for USB 2.0 mass
storage devices. USB devices that require more than 500mA (0.5A) of current may not function
correctly.
USB mass storage devices up to 1024GB (1TB) are supported. Compatibility cannot be guaran-
teed under all circumstances for higher capacities.
USB hubs are not supported!
Only FAT32 or NTFS file systems are supported. If a medium is formatted with another file sys-
tem, then it will not be recognized.
We recommend using USB 2.0 mass storage devices with this device. Commercially available
USB 3.0 mass storage devices may not be backward compatible and may cause problems when
recognized and used with this device.
