SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol, within the triangle, is intended to alert the user to the
presence of dangerous voltage within the product's enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to
constitute a risk of electric shock to persons. The exclamation point within the triangle is intended to
alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the
literature accompanying the unit.
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pur-
suant to FCC Rules. These standards are designed to prevent or reduce interference with other
domestic electrical appliances. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency
energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interfe-
rence to radio communications.
Safety instructions (installation and operation)
Never handle the device with damp or wet hands. Do not position the device near moisture or
water. Do not place any vessels containing liquids on the device.
The device can only be operated with the voltage described on the rear panel and on the power
supply unit.
The cable is sheathed and insulates the current. Please do not place any objects on the cable
as this could cause the protective function to be lost. Avoid placing excessive stress on the
cable, especially at sockets and plugs.
To protect the unit during a lightning storm or when it is left unattended for long periods of time:
unplug it from the wall outlet and the antenna/cable. This will prevent damage due to lightning
strikes.
An outdoor antenna should not be placed near power lines or other circuits. Extreme caution
should be used when attaching such antennas, as contact with such lines can be fatal.
Do not overload electrical outlets, extension cords, or other wiring as this may result in fire or
electric shock.
Do not insert any objects into the openings of the unit, as current flows in some places and
contact may cause fire or electric shock.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or cleaning
sprays. The device may only be cleaned with a damp cloth.
Do not operate the device in dusty environments. Strong cigarette smoke can affect electronic
devices. Damage caused by cigarette smoke will not be repaired free of charge under the sta-
tutory warranty.
Power supply
Only use the supplied power supply unit to power the device. Observe the information on the type plate
of the power supply unit. The power supply unit provides a stabilized DC voltage of 12V. Operation with
a non-stabilized voltage can damage the device.

Receiving system
The receiving system must be grounded in accordance with the regulations!
If the antenna is not precisely aligned, image interference and other reception problems may
occur. This can also affect only individual transmitters or depend on the weather. Please have
your antenna calibrated by a specialist company.
Use high-quality antenna cables. Observe the information on the type plate regarding the maxi-
mum current output of the antenna connection.
Consult the website of your broadcasting company or a specialist dealer for information on the
correct alignment of your reception system and current station lists.
