Electrical Safety

The electric motor has been designed for one
voltage only. Always check that the power supply
corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.
Your tool is double insulated in
accordance with EN 61029;
therefore no earth wire is required.
WARNING: 115 V units have to
be operated via a fail-safe isolating
transformer with an earth screen
between the primary and secondary
winding.
In case of cord replacement the tool must only
be repaired by an authorized service agent or by
qualified electrician.
Mains Plug Replacement
(U.K. & Ireland only)
If a new mains plug needs to be fitted:
• Safely dispose of the old plug.
• Connect the brown lead to the live terminal in
the plug.
• Connect the blue lead to the neutral terminal.
WARNING: No connection is to be
made to the earth terminal.
Follow the fitting instructions supplied with good
quality plugs. Recommended fuse: 13 A.
Fitting a Mains Plug to 115 V Units
(U.K. and Ireland Only)
• The plug fitted should be comply with
BS EN 60309 (BS4343), 16 Amps, earthing
contact position 4h.
WARNING: Always ensure that the
cable clamp is correctly and securely
fitted to the sheath of the cable.
Using an Extension Cable
If an extension cable is required, use an approved
3–core extension cable suitable for the power
input of this tool (see technical data).The minimum
conductor size is 1.5 mm
2
; the maximum length is
30 m.
When using a cable reel, always unwind the cable
completely.
ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS
WARNING: To reduce the risk of
injury, turn unit off and disconnect
machine from power source before
installing and removing accessories,
before adjusting or changing set-
ups or when making repairs. Be sure
the trigger switch is in the OFF position.
An accidental start-up can cause injury.
Bench Mounting (fi g. A)
Mounting holes (h) have been provided to facilitate
Bench mounting.
Removing and Fitting a Cutting Blade
(fi g. A, B1 & B2)
1. With the arm in the rest position, use the lip (j2)
to slide the guard (d) back. Leave the guard
retracted (fig. B1).
2. Press and hold down the spindle lock (e)
(fig. B2).
3. Rotate the cutting blade until it locks.
4. Rotate the bolt cover (k) out of the way
(fig. B1).
5. Using the hex key (j), remove the bolt (l) by
turning counterclockwise and then remove the
lock washer (l1), the flat washer (l2) and the
retaining flange (l3) (fig. B2).
6. Replace the cutting blade (m). Make sure that
the the new blade is placed onto the flange (m1)
in correct rotational direction.
7. Secure the blade with the retaining flange (l3),
the flate washer (l2) and lock washer (l1) and the
bolt (l).
8. Move the guard back down and release the
spindle lock (e).
WARNING: The teeth of a new blade
are very sharp and can be dangerous.
Clamping the Workpiece in Position
(fi g. A & C1-C6)
The tool is equipped with a material clamp (f) (fig. A).
1. Pull the lever (n) toward the handle (n1)
(fig. C1).
2. Push the clamp shaft (n2) forward until the jaw
(n3) is almost touching the workpiece.
3. Press the lever (n) toward the jaw (n3) until it
engages with the clamp shaft (n2).
4. Rotate the handle (n1) clockwise and clamp the
workpiece securely.
