4 Installation
1. Unpacking
On unpacking, check the sensor for possible mechanical damage of the O-rings and the M16x1 thread. Report any
damage to your METTLER TOLEDO supplier.
2. Installation into an Eldon James bag port

NOTICE: 1" Eldon James ports are available in different polymer materials. For a leak proof sensor installation
METTLER TOLEDO offers InSUS sensors with different O-ring configurations. If in doubt of the correct configuration
for your requirements, please contact your METTLER TOLEDO supplier.
Recommended port / sensor combinations are:
1" Eldon James port material
Engage™ 8402
Dowlex™ 2517
If applicable in your production environment use a mixture of 70 % isopropyl alcohol and 30 % deionized water for
carefully lubricating the sensor O-rings prior to insertion into the Eldon James port.
Remove the black protective cap and the retainer ring from the sensor. Push the sensor all the way into the port until
the sensor flange is flush with the port rim. This is ideally done with a slight twisting motion to facilitate the insertion.

NOTICE: Make sure that the O-rings are still located completely in their grooves after this insertion procedure.
If this is not the case, pull the sensor out of the port, reposition the O-rings and repeat the insertion procedure.
