INSTALLATION AND FUNCTIONAL INSTRUCTIONS
First locate the ISO cable between the vehicle and the hea unit/car radio, which is located in the radio slot on the dashboard.
Then pull out both plug connections to be able to connect the QM-TWO-ISO amplifier between them. If your vehicle's head
unit/car radio does not have an ISO connection, appropriate adapter cables such as the MPK sets for all common vehicle
types are available from specialist dealers
Due to the small dimensions of the amplifier, you can store it in the radio slot of the dashboard, but make sure that the
amplifier gets enough cooling.
After connecting and installing the amplifier, the front channels (CH1/FL and CH2/FR) from the control unit/car radio are
amplified. The rear channels (CH3/RL and CH4/RR) continue to play unmodified. For example, it is advisable to operate an
active subwoofer system with the signal output (OUTPUT) of the amplifier.
Connect the enclosed cable plug to the INPUT / OUTPUT and SPEAKER OUTPUT sockets on the amplifier. Then
1
plug connector A into the free slot on the head unit / car radio and plug socket B onto the corresponding connector
on the ISO cable coming from the vehicle.
Connect the enclosed cable plug to the POWER INPUT socket on the amplifier. Then plug connector C into the
2
free slot on the head unit / car radio and plug socket D onto the corresponding connector on the ISO cable coming
from the vehicle.
The amplifier does not have an internal device fuse. The fuse is secured via the cable fuse of the head unit/car radio.
If this is defective, only replace the fuse with an equivalent one.
Bring this switch to position "DC", then the amplifier then detects a voltage rise to 6 volts when the head unit is
3
turned on by a so-called "DC offset" and then turns on the amplifier.
Note: As soon as the head unit is switched off again, the amplifier switches itself off.
The X-OVER switch selects the desired operating mode:
4
LP:
Lowpass mode: this switch position should not be selected in this operating mode.
HP:
Highpass mode: fixed at 80 Hz, frequency is limited downwards.
Use this switch position if you want to operate small to medium-sized loudspeakers.
FULL:
Fullrange mode: the entire frequency range is amplified.
Use this switch position if you want to operate medium to large speakers.
The LEVEL INPUT controller determines the input sensitivity of the amplifier to adapt to the output signal of the
5
head unit.
Turn the LEVEL INPUT controller of the amplifier to the MIN position.
Turn the volume controller of the head unit to 80 - 90% of its full setting.
Turn the LEVEL INPUT controller clockwise until you hear some distortion.
Then turn back the LEVEL INPUT controller slightly until you hear a cleaner sound.
If the POWER/PROTECT is blue, the amplifier is ready for operation. If the POWER/PROTECT is red, there is a
6
malfunction. Refer in this case to the section TROUBLE SHOOTING.
The OUTPUT RCA jacks of the wire harnesses provide a linear fullrange audio signal for driving additional ampli-
7
fiers or active subwoofer systems.
