4.0 Intended Use
Radiation protection glasses and visors are personal protective equipment for users for applications
with X-rays in the X-ray tube voltage range of 50 kV - 150 kV. The PPE products are specially designed
for use in the field of medical diagnostics.
Correct fitting and wearing of PPE products is essential. Only compliance with these conditions
ensures the best possible radiation protection for the user and patient, as well as minimizing
the danger to users, patients, and third parties.
The glass in the protective glasses consists of leaded glass, except for models; BRV500, BRV501, BR133.
Please note that lead glass is shock-sensitive.
WARNING – Damage
Do not use damaged radiation protection glasses and visors!
If products are offered in different sizes, take care to ensure the best possible
NOTE:
fit of the product when selecting them. This ensures the best possible wearing
comfort and radiation protection of the product.
WARNING – Eyeglass Strap
Always use radiation protection glasses with the included eyeglass strap. The eyeglass
strap minimizes the risk of slipping off and dropping while the glasses are being worn.
Radiation protection glasses and visors are NOT suitable for:
• Protection against mechanical impact
• Laser and UV radiation
• Protection against infections/chemical agents
• Other types of ionising radiation, except X-rays in the X-ray tube voltage
range of 50 kV - 150 kV in medical applications
BR133 radiation protection glasses are also suitable as PPE for the medical therapeutic
use of Rhenium-188.
