8.0 Cleaning & Disinfection
8.2

Disinfection

The product should always be cleaned as described in Chapter 8.1 „Cleaning" prior to disinfection.
WARNING – Damage to the Product
Do not use alcohol-based disinfectants, pure alcohol (e.g. ethanol and isopropanol),
or oxidising as well as active chlorine or salt-containing disinfectants as they attack the
surface of the radiation protection glasses and visors more strongly than disinfectants
based on other chemicals.
WARNING – Product Performance and Surface Damage
The combined use of different disinfectants and/or disinfectants and cleaning agents
may impair the product performance or damage surfaces of the product.
To disinfect all surfaces
of visors BRV500/BRV501:
• Disinfection with suitable non-alcoholic surface disinfectant for sensitive surfaces
(wipe or spray disinfection).
• Use a microfibre cloth to remove any streaks that may occur after the disinfectant
has been applied.
When disinfecting the BR133, the transparent lead acrylic may become opaque.
NOTE:
This does not impair the radiation protection effect of the BR133. BR133 can still
be used as a radiation protection glass even with complete clouding of the front
glasses.

9.0 Disposal

The product must be disposed of in accordance with the nationally applicable provisions
at an appropriate disposal facility.
