Configure trigger

In this step of parameter setting you can define and test the trigger.
Via Trigger source you determine which event is to initiate an image capture and
evaluation. There are the following options:
• continuous triggering in which case images are repeatedly captured and evaluat-
ed.
• triggering via a positive or negative edge on the external trigger input and
• internal triggering via the image content.
With internal triggering you can define a horizontally or vertically oriented image
field, the so-called trigger bar. The orientation is defined via the selection field
Trigger orientation . Position and size of the trigger bar can be modified by means of
the mouse.

Compared to the horizontal trigger orientation the vertical trigger orientation has a consider-
ably longer response time. It is recommended to turn the sensor by 90° if necessary.
The value of the Trigger level slider bar first corresponds to the percentage of dark
image pixels (with trigger source internal, neg. edge) or the percentage of light image
pixels (with trigger source internal, pos. edge) in the trigger bar.
