FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Must the charger be disconnected immediately after
charging the battery?
The battery charger is protected against overcharging
and turns off automatically when the battery is
fully charged. For safety reasons, we recommend
disconnecting the charger after the end of the charging
cycle (from both battery module and power source)
How long does it take to charge the battery?
Charging the battery depends on the type of battery.
For an overview of the average charging times, see the
Chapter "Battery and battery charger", page 30.
Can I recharge the battery before it is empty?
Yes, it is recommended charging your battery even if not
fully discharged, in order to extend the battery's life.
What do I need to do when I don't use the battery for a little
while?
The battery needs to be regularly used. If you don't use
it for a longer period of time (e. g. when e-bikes are put
out of service in the winter months), we recommend
storing it in a cool dry place charged to about 50% of its
38
capacity. The battery must not be stored in temperatures
below the freezing point or by contrast near heat sources
or exposed to direct sunlight. Even if the battery is
used, due to the self-discharge a gradual loss of energy,
respectively battery capacity occurs. Therefore we
recommend recharging the battery at least once every
3 months (at least once every 6 months). By regular
recharging you prevent deep discharge of the battery,
which is not covered by the battery warranty.
It the battery secured against theft?
The battery is locked automatically when you put it in
the carrier of your Powerfl ex bicycle. You can unlock
and remove the battery with the key for the lock of your
Powerfl ex bicycle.
What is the diff erent between E-bikes with rotation and
torsion sensor?
The revolution sensor senses the rotation of the pedals
and depending on whether the rider is pedaling or
not, the e-assistance is activated. This principle is
particularly suitable for a hilly terrain, resp. it depends
on the rider's pedaling frequency. Torsional sensor
