BATTERY AND BATTERY CHARGER
Battery
The Powerfl ex system for electric pedal support works
with a Panasonic Lithium-ion battery pack. The battery
has built-in safety features against overcharging, high
temperatures, deep discharging and maximum current.
The control system switches the system back to support
level 5 when the battery is nearly empty (1 bar on the
charge level of the battery as shown on the display).
At the end of the life cycle, the Powerfl ex battery
is chemical waste and must be disposed of via
your Powerfl ex dealer or at a collection point in
accordance with statutory regulations.
Charging the battery
You can charge your battery whilst it is still on the bicycle
or you can remove it from the luggage carrier.

Charging on the bike:
You can plug the charger in the socket on the right rear
side of the battery, just before the rear-light unit.

Charging away from the bike:
You can unlock the battery on the front left side with
the key from the bike lock and then push the battery
backwards from the luggage carrier. If you put the
battery back in the baggage carrier, you push it until
it locks into the automatic locking system (you hear
a click). You do not have to use the bike key to put the
battery back.
Instructions for the use of the battery module:
• Your bike dealer has delivered you a bike with
a partially charged battery. Prior to the fi rst use, we
recommend you fully charge the battery.
• The battery should be recharged when it is almost
empty(1 point on the indicator appearing on the
display).For ensuring the longest possible life of the
battery cells don't leave the battery empty for several
days or weeks.
• Even if the battery is not fully discharged after riding
and it still has a half or a third of its capacity, we
recommend you recharge the battery in order to
ensure a longer life of the battery cells.
