• Stopping the device: Let go of the trigger (2).
Adjusting the telescopic tube (Fig. 5)
Disconnect the tool from the electricity supply
first!
• Open the locking handle (5) for length adjustment
• Adjust the telescopic tube (6) to the required
length.
• After the adjustment, close the locking handle (5)
again, so that the length adjustment is secure.
Adjusting the motor head (Fig. 6)
Disconnect the tool from the electricity supply
first!
Angle adjustment A
• Press the button (10) for the angle adjustment on
both sides and rotate the head to the required po­
sition (from 0° to 120°). Make sure that the motor
head clicks into place again.
Make sure that the adjustment buttons return to their
initial position after adjustment. Otherwise, the tool
will not start.
Do not connect the tool to the electricity supply until
assembly has been completed. If this is not done,
the device could start unintentionally and cause se­
vere injuries.

8. Working instructions

NOTICES AND TIPS FOR HEDGE TRIMMER
• Find safe footing, operate the device with both
hands and turn it on.
• Cut the hedge from both sides and start at the bot­
tom. In this way, you can prevent cutting-waste fall­
ing into the area that still needs to be cut.
• Guide the device gently through the area of the
hedge.
• Do not attempt to cut too deeply.
• Then cut the upper part of the hedge.
• For older hedges which need more pruning, cut
stronger branches and twigs with loppers first be­
fore cutting the hedge with the device.

9. Electrical connection

The electrical motor installed is connected and
ready for operation. The connection complies
with the applicable VDE and DIN provisions.
The customer's mains connection as well as
the extension cable used must also comply with
these regulations.
Damaged electrical connection cable
The insulation on electrical connection cables is of­
ten damaged.

This may have the following causes:
• Passage points, where connection cables are
passed through windows or doors.
• Kinks where the connection cable has been im­
properly fastened or routed.
• Places where the connection cables have been cut
due to being driven over.
• Insulation damage due to being ripped out of the
wall outlet.
• Cracks due to the insulation ageing.
Such damaged electrical connection cables must not
be used and are life­threatening due to the insula­
tion damage.
Check the electrical connection cables for damage
regularly.
Make sure that the connection cable does not hang
on the power network during the inspection.
Electrical connection cables must comply with the
applicable VDE and DIN provisions. Only use con­
nection cables with the marking „H07RN­F".
The printing of the type designation on the connec­
tion cable is mandatory.
AC motor
• The mains voltage must be 230 V~.
• Extension cables up to 25 m long must have a
cross section of 1.5 mm², and over 25 m long must
have a cross section of 2.5 mm².
Connections and repairs of electrical equipment may
only be carried out by an electrician.
Please provide the following information in the event
of any enquiries:
• Type of current for the motor
• Machine data - type plate
• Motor data - type plate

10. Maintenance

INJURY
WARNING!
Before working on the device, disconnect the
mains cable from the socket.
Always wear protective gloves when working on
or around cutting tools.
• Regularly check the device before starting work.
• Damaged blades have to be repaired or replaced
by an authorised service department before you
can work with the device.
• Clean the blades with a soft brush after working
with the device and spray a thin layer of liquid pro­
tective oil on the whole blade.
• Always keep the ventilation holes in the motor cas­
ing free and clean.
• Never use water to clean or spray the device. Clean
the motor casing with a damp cloth and never use
detergents or solvents! This may damage the de­
vice's plastic parts. Dry the motor casing carefully
afterwards.
