Description

Measuring motion and rpms
The convenient mini stroboscope testo 475 mea-
sures rpm and motion. By separating the measu-
ring instrument and the probe you can also measu-
re in inaccessible places.
The measuring method corresponds to the stro-
boscope principle which states that the objects
are stationary in the eyes of the observer when
they are illuminated with high-speed flashes,
whose frequency is in synchronisation with the
motion (rpm) of these objects.
This measuring method is the only way of measu-
ring the rpm in small motors and fans etc. This
method can be used to full advantage in the locali-
sation of vibration nodes in mechanical bodies (e.g.
moving diaphragms). The frequency is adjusted
(microprocessor-controlled) via the keyboard. In
this way you, the user, can quickly achieve a value
range and adjust the required frequency one digit
at a time or measure the rpm.
As an alternative to the stroboscope you can
connect a mechanical probe to testo 475 for
which there are different measuring tips available
depending on the measuring task: probe tips,
female centres and surface speed discs.The
rpm and motion is measured, by direct contact,
using these measuring tips.
The power supply comes from rechargeable batte-
ris. The user is therefore independent of the mains.
