7. Fitting KPM(e)

The KPM(e) roof fan is designed to be mounted on
a fl at roof with underfl oor ducting. The roof passage
should be mounted using an adhesive plate designed
for this purpose

A connection set is supplied with the KPM(e). The oper-
ating switch (1) should fi rst be screwed to the bracket
(2) using the four sheet-metal screws supplied. The op-
erating switch must be disassembled fi rst. A cable gland
should be fi tted to both sides of the operating switch.
The cable (3) emitting from the cowling is then threaded
through the right-hand gland (4) and connected to the
operating switch as indicated in the wiring diagram (see
fi g. 5 or 6).The cable from the network connection (5)
should then be fed through the bottom of the standpipe
till it emerges through the gland in the cowling via the
hole in the standpipe (6), and is connected to the
operating switch via the left-hand gland (7) (see fi g. 5
and 6). All the glands and the pull relief must now be
tightened.
The KPM(e) should now be guided over the adhesive
plate until the black edge ring lies on the upper surface
of the adhesive plate. This applies slight pressure to
the foam located in the cowling. The KPM(e) must then
be screwed to the adhesive plate using three self-tap-
pers (8) where indicated on the cowling.
The fan may not extrude more than 5° from
the lead.
There is a hole in the bottom of the operating
switch to allow for condensation drainage

8. Connection

The system must be installed with minimum air resist-
ance and must be free from air leakage. Use of fl exible
pipes must therefore be kept to a minimum. The pipe
fan connection size is ø124 mm.

9. General electrical

The unit has a three-position switch as standard and
should be connected according to one of the attached
wiring diagrams (see fi g. 5 and 6) with an earth. The
connection must comply with NEN 1010 and the locally
applicable regulations. The connection cable on the
2
version without a perilex plug should only be connected
3
by a registered fi tter. The connection cable must then
be secured using a pull relief. If the unit is fi tted with a
4
perilex plug, then this plug may only be inserted in the
wall socket once installation is complete. All units are
8
fi tted with an operating switch as standard.
The unit is not suited for connection to three-
phase mains.

10. Set-up (valves, fan)

AC version
Close windows and doors. Set the system to its highest
position and open the valves to their maximum. Regu-
late the valves to the required fl ow per room. Record the
set-up position of the valves.
DC version
Close windows and doors. Set the system to its highest
position and open the valves to their maximum. Measure
the total air volume at the valves. Adjust the system to
the correct total capacity using the dipswitches. Regulate
the valves to the required fl ow per room. Tick the posi-
tion of the dipswitches in the table.
Record the set-up position of the valves.
Settings dipswitches
The control PCB has some (DIP) switches with which
a number of extra settings can be set. Using the
switches 1 to 4 (see fi g. 3), the speed of the fan can
be adjusted further in positions 2 and 3. This might be
necessary if long supply and exhaust ducts are used.
Switches 5 and 6 (see fi g. 3) are used to set external
controls for the ventilation system.
