INSTALLATION OF THE RESERVE CHUTE
Place the reserve chute deployment bag with the handle pointing upwards into the reser-
ve chute compartment of the RANGE X-ALPS and lay the V-connection cord untwisted
next to it. Guide the V-line through the side channel and up to the shoulder straps.
After the reserve chute has been properly installed in the harness, it must be closed using
the splints on the rescue handle. For this you need two short lengths of parachute line
(because of the low friction we recommend unsheathed, not too thin paraglider lines),
which you thread through the two loops on the outer container. Now, thread the eyelets of
the flaps one after the other.
Start with the lower flap on which the two small loops are sewn. Next, close the flap as
shown in Fig. 1. Now close the flap (2) on the left (in flight direction), before closing the
last flap shown in Fig. 3. When finished, take the lower splint on the rescue handle and in-
sert it through the lower loop, to which the length of parachute line is attached (4). Now
repeat the same with the upper splint and the upper loop. Once the splints have been in-
serted through the loops, the lengths of parachute line can be slowly and carefully with-
drawn.
Both splints have now been threaded and the outer container has been secured and clo-
sed by means of both splints. Now insert the cover flap through the rescue handle and
into the left-hand (in flight direction) compartment (5).
The reserve chute is now completely installed in the harness with the rescue handle.
