Cleaning and Disinfection of the Applyfix
Remove the cartridge.
Remove any uncured paste using a cloth soaked in alcohol.
The Applyfix 4 dispensing gun can be used several times if

properly disinfected. Kettenbach recommends exchanging the
gun if there are visible traces of use. Disinfection can be carried
out using a commercially available dipping disinfectant. Ketten-
bach recommends the use of glutaraldehyde-based solutions.
Instructions for Use: Applyfix
Syringe
Insert a new syringe tip into tip retainer. Screw tip retainer with
the syringe tip onto the syringe cylinder (Figure 2, Page 122).
If necessary, lubricate the ring washer very slightly with
petrolatum for an easy action of the syringe piston.
Prepare the preferred impression material (the Applyfix
application syringe is indicated for light bodied or medium bod-
ied consistency impression material only).
Attach the open syringe cylinder of the Applyfix
the mixing tip of the preferred impression material (Figure 3,
Page 122).
Fill the needed amount of material directly into the syringe
cylinder. Insert the syringe piston into the syringe cylinder

(Figure 4, Page 122) and apply the impression material into the
patient's mouth as desired.

Clean the Applyfix 5 application syringe with the brush

(Figure 5, Page 122) after using and removing of the full
hardened impression material. The Applyfix
syringe can be used several times if properly disinfected.
Kettenbach recommends exchanging the gun if there are visible
traces of use. Disinfection can be carried out using a commer-
cially available dipping disinfectant. Kettenbach recommends
the use of glutaraldehyde-based solutions. The Applyfix
be reused and autoclaved several times and should be replaced
once it shows signs of mechanical damage. Do not reuse the
syringe tips, to avoid contamination.
Cautions
Only use one material per Applyfix
Contamination of different impression materials renders the
impression material unusable.

Storage Conditions

Store in a dry place at room temperature; do not expose
to sunlight and avoid exposure to extreme temperature
fluctuations.
