8. Cleaning and maintenance

It is important that the HEATSCOPE® ZERO is cleaned regularly when installed in outdoor locations,
in order to ensure a long and efficient operating life.
The aluminum construction of the HEATSCOPE® ZERO together with the anodized surface helps to
preserve the heater even in coastal locations.
In order to ensure optimum thermal performance, the surfaces of the heater must be cleaned
regularly with a damp cloth. It is particularly important in this regard that the heater is not turned
on and has been turned off at least 60 minutes before cleaning. Otherwise, there is increased risk
of injury and burns!
Always make sure that no voltage/current is applied to the HEATSCOPE® ZERO, the controller or
the attachment during cleaning and that the devices are unplugged and protected against being
restarted while cleaning.
Caution!
Do not use a high pressure hose or other such high pressure water equipment to clean the HEAT-
SCOPE® ZERO. Also, do not use sharp objects and aggressive cleaning agents. Make sure that no
cleaning residue remains on the unit.
9. Error status detection
Error description
The HEATSCOPE® ZERO does not
heat up.
The HEATSCOPE® ZERO smells
like it is burning.
The LED on the HEATSCOPE®
ZERO is not lighting although the
unit is switched on.
The HEATSCOPE® ZERO triggers
the residual current circuit brea-
ker or fuse.
The HEATSCOPE® ZERO is not
warm enough.

Solution
- Check the supply voltage.
- Send the unit in if necessary.
- Remove the transport lock.
- Send the unit in if necessary.
- Unplug the unit and allow to cool.
- Send the unit in if necessary.
- Do not start up the unit again.
- Send the unit in if necessary.
